In this article, we examine the Canadian housing crisis (from a Montrealer’s perspective), its effects and possible solutions. More specifically, it discusses the recent dramatic rise in prices of Montreal real estate, how speculation has contributed this problem, and how it leads to a widening of the gap between the rich and the poor.
